NMU Presents 'Full Monty' Musical

Northern Michigan University's Department of Theatre and Dance presents the musical The Full Monty. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11-Saturday, Oct. 12 and Wednesday, Oct. 16-Saturday, Oct. 19, at Forest Roberts Theatre.

NMU Budget Continues Investments in Innovation

Northern Michigan University's Board of Trustees approved a 2019-20 general fund base budget that continues strategic investments in four areas: innovative academic programs; faculty, staff and students, including a nearly $940,000 increase in financial aid; campus modernization and facilities maintenance; and intercollegiate athletics and student activities.

Moore Honored as Lovell Endowed Professor

School of Health and Human Performance Professor Maggy Moore was recognized at a Sept. 19 ceremony as the first recipient of the Mark R. and Eileen Lovell Endowed Professorship. The distinction focuses on education, research and patient care related to concussions.

Weston Hall, Lucas Atrium Dedicated

A renaming ceremony for Kathleen Shingler Weston Hall, formerly the New Science Facility, was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. During the ceremony, NMU also named the building's main lounge space as the David J. Lucas Atrium in honor of the late physics department head and pre-med/pre-professional programs coordinator.

NMU Dedicates Northern Center

Sep. 20, 2019 —
NMU showcased its newly renovated Northern Center with a dedication and public tours on Sept. 19. The facility has been reimagined and renamed to reflect its high-volume use as a premier venue not only for the campus community, but for the Upper Peninsula.
