Northern Michigan University preventive maintenance technician Chele Sproull is one of nine recipients of NMU's 2022 Excellence in Service awards. Sproull has been employed at the University since 2012, and has been with the Facilities Department as a preventive maintenance technician (PMT) since 2019. 

Northern Michigan University building and grounds attendant Glenda Ross is one of nine recipients of NMU's 2022 Excellence in Service awards. Ross has had to coordinate logistics for many room swaps and relocations throughout the year. 

Northern Michigan University mechanic Daryl Johnson is one of nine recipients of NMU's 2022 Excellence in Service awards. Johnson's most notable accomplishment was the completion of one of the department's largest vehicle rehabilitation projects. 

The Northern Michigan University Foundation today announced its plans to host community forums regarding efforts to facilitate redevelopment of the former hospital site adjacent to the NMU campus. Two forums will be held at The Northern Center on May 3: the first from 2-3:30 p.m and the second from 5:30-7 p.m. Participants will receive a brief project update and take part in polling activities and dialogue with other community members. Refreshments will be served.

Jenna Chappell, a Northern Michigan University senior from Onondaga, Mich., who will graduate cum laude on April 30 with a double major in criminal justice and anthropology, is the recipient of the 2022 Martha Griffiths Award from the American Association of University Women of Marquette (AAUW-Marquette).
