Audrey Bauman of Little Rock, Ark., has been named one of two Northern Michigan University English Department 2020-21 outstanding graduating graduate students. She is graduating May 1 with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. 

Jacklyn Lenten of Negaunee, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences (EEGS) 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior. She is graduating May 1 with an environmental science degree with a concentration is in natural resources.

Ryan Meister of Walled Lake, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University Economics Department 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior. He will graduate May 1, having earned the scholastic recognition of Magna Cum Laude.

Kendall Burmeister of Menominee, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University School of Clinical Sciences 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior.

Stephanie Baklarz of Grawn, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University Chemistry Department 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior. Earning a 4.0 grade-point average, Baklarz is graduating in May with a medicinal plant chemistry degree.

Leah Danielson of New Brighton, Minn., has been named the Northern Michigan University Communications and Media Studies (CAMS) 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior.

Sarah Kendall of Faribault, Minn., has been named the Northern Michigan University College of Business 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior.

Sam Miess of Oregon, Wis., has been named one of two Northern Michigan University Department of Biology 2020-21 outstanding graduating seniors. Miess graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average in December. He plans to pursue a doctoral program with a focus on aquatic ecology. 

McKenzie Leishman of Kingsley, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University School of Art and Design 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior.

Northern Michigan University ranks 36th among the nation's best bachelor's degree programs in environmental science, according to a national ranking released by Study.com. NMU's environmental science degree features an interdisciplinary approach that prepares students for a variety of careers in physical and natural science by emphasizing applied environmental science knowledge, skills and abilities.
