Scholarship Honors Late NMU 'Super Fan'

The parents of Todd Honch – known as “Stix” by many because he was considered an excellent drummer—have endowed a scholarship to memorialize his passion for Northern Michigan University bands and sporting events.

NMU Ranks 2nd Among Military Friendly Schools

Northern Michigan University ranks 2nd among small public schools nationwide that have been designated 2020-21 Military Friendly Schools by VIQTORY Media. This is Northern's third-consecutive appearance in the Top 10 and its highest placement. NMU is the only Michigan institution in the Top 10 rankings for that category.

Quiz Bowl Team Competes at Sectional

The NMU Quiz Bowl team is awaiting word on a possible return to the national championship after competing in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) sectional Feb. 8 in Minneapolis. Sophomore Jakob Lippert was the second-highest individual scorer among 47 players at the tourney.

'North of the 45th' Exhibit Seeks Entries

Northern Michigan University's DeVos Art Museum is accepting submissions for its annual “North of the 45th” exhibition through March 16. Artists living in Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota north of the 45th parallel are welcome to submit their work.

'Significant Other' Performed at NMU

Northern Michigan University's Department of Theatre and Dance will present the play “Significant Other.” Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13-Saturday, Feb. 15 and Wednesday, Feb. 19-Saturday, Feb. 22, at the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre.
