The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet will play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Reynolds Recital Hall. The performance is part of the Siril Endowment for the Musical Arts concert series. Admission is $12 for the general public, $7 for youth and free for NMU students with ID. 

Author Cindy Pierce will give a presentation titled “Communication and Good Healthy Sex” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Northern Michigan University's Jamrich Hall in room 1100. This event is free and open to the public.

NMU alumna Tara Laase-McKinney ('10 BS) will compete in this weekend's Marji Gesick 100, a grueling bike challenge that covers 100+ miles of relentless, rocky U.P. terrain and involves 12,000 feet of climbing. She gained insights on how to optimize her training and performance from students in an NMU advanced mechanical kinesiology class.

Northern Michigan University has officially reopened its tennis courts located off Wright Street near the intramural fields. All eight courts have been resurfaced and four are lined for pickleball. New nets and security cameras have also been installed.

Northern Michigan University will hold its 14th annual Uniting Neighbors in the Experience of Diversity (UNITED) Conference Sept. 23-24 in Ballroom I and II of the Northern Center. UNITED is a yearly conference composed of a broad range of presentations focusing on diversity and inclusion.

Northern Michigan University will host informational events in Escanaba and Iron Mountain, where non-traditional students can learn about career-advancing business programs offered completely or partially online. Programs include a new bachelor of applied science in management degree, a graduate certificate in health informatics and a master of business administration (MBA).

The next Science on Tap event will be titled “From Volcanoes to Glaciers: The Amazing Geologic Story of the U.P.” NMU Biology Professor Robert Regis will deliver the presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Ore Dock Brewing Company. All Science on Tap events are free and open to all ages.

Identifying and overcoming imposter syndrome, the inability to internalize and accept one's success, will be the topic of the next Psychological Science Colloquium at Northern Michigan University. The presentation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, in room 2904 of the West Science Building.

Northern Michigan University's School of Clinical Sciences will present its inaugural Medical Laboratory Sciences and Molecular Genetics Symposium Sept. 26-28. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 20.
