NMU Library Hosts 'Spirit of the Hunt' Exhibit

Northern Michigan University's Lydia Olson Library is hosting a multimedia art exhibit titled "The Spirit of the Hunt," presented in collaboration with Project Coyote. It is curated by Catherine Plank, a University of Michigan graduate student, and intended to promote discussion while highlighting the “beauty and values of wolves and other wildlife in the Great Lakes region.”

NMU Board Special Meeting Friday

Nov. 11, 2021 —
The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting via teleconference at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12. Two items are on the agenda: the American Association of University Professors' (AAUP) NMU chapter negotiated contract; and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees' Union (AFSCME) (AFL-CIO) Local 1095 letter of agreement. The meeting will be live-streamed on YouTube at: https://bit.ly/nmuavstreaming.

Mary Wright Public Art Remnants Sought

For more than three decades, artist Mary Wright initiated a series of public art projects that helped Upper Peninsula communities connect meaningfully with their past. A committee planning a series of events to celebrate Wright's legacy is seeking help in identifying items from the various projects that are available and in displayable condition for an exhibition demonstrating her contributions to the region.
