Northern Michigan University freshman biology student Easton Zivnoska is working to counter negative stereotype of reptiles. He hosts educational reptile shows for grade school classes, small gatherings and loved ones' events.
“I try to find a way to show that they're not all that bad," said Zivnoska in a Mining Journal feature story, especially when it comes to the most vilified, like snakes. "It's always humans who cause the interactions of an aggressive nature between them and the animal. The animals are just the ones copying that (behavior). It's better to take it with a peaceful mindset and to show, even if you're not going to touch it or interact with it, appreciation for the animal being around.”
Zivnoska shows reptiles professionally through his work at Northern Scales Reptiles in Marquette's Masonic Mall. Read more about his work in this Mining Journal story.
